I'm so excited for today's tutorial. I think I'm going to be making one in several different colors. Amie is so sweet and talented. Once you check out her adorable tutorial don't forget to enter her giveaway at the end!
------------------------------------------------------Hello Crystal's readers! I'm so excited to be that Crystal has invited me to visit her blog again! Her blog was one of the very first I started following when I stumbled upon the craft blogging world. She is one of the most talented women I know-through-blogging.
In case you missed me last time, I'm Amie, and I run a little blog called Kitty Cats and Airplanes. I'm a full time personal elementary school tutor and I love my job! I also love anything crafty, which is why I started my craft blog back in September. It's a place where I like to share my crafty endeavors, recipes, and other projects that inspire me. I have serious crafting ADD, so you're sure to always find something new and exciting! (My current kick is jewelry.)
And this button bracelet. I have a ton of tutorials so be sure to take a minute to check out all of them!
As I mentioned earlier, my current crafty kick is jewelry. I love perusing through websites and finding inspiration for my own jewelry. That's how I ended up here today. I know you've seen knock offs from Anthropologie, J. Crew and other fancy sites, but my piece today actually came from Old Navy!
I love it! I love the ribbon strung through the chain, the feminine flower, pearls and black satin, what's not to love? The $15 price tag doesn't exactly make me cringe, but why shell out money when I can make my own with things I already have?
- Thin, black, satin ribbon
- Black lace (I ended up using black lace from the bolt, not trim like pictured above)
- Strong black thread and needle (I used upholstery thread)
- Medium sized silver chain and two large jump rings
- Large faux pearls (8mm)
- Heat source for heat sealing ribbon (not pictured)
- Clear nail polish (not pictured)
- Needle nose pliers (not pictured)
Admire your handiwork because you, my friend, just made one fantastic necklace. To wear it, simply tie the ribbons behind your neck!
Like the necklace but don't have the time or supplies to make one of your own? You're in luck, because I'm giving this very necklace away to one of Crystal's readers! To enter, simply leave a comment on this post! (Including your email address would make it much easier for Crystal to contact you if you win!)
