Happy Thursday to you!
I'm Linds...
Author of:
And this is what I've been up to...
Cuegly?
What is it you say?
I dont know...but let me start by showing you what, and how I did it...
I cut out this circle from an old file folder.
Took apart on old book "Great American Literature" to be exact. (Now dont go thinking I enjoyed taking this book apart...I kept thinking about its long and happy life...it was definitely old and beautiful...I think I closed my eyes when I tore the first page)
So I rolled a pages like so...
Hot glued the corner...
To multiple pages.
It became an art, It's hard to get the rolls the same width and length, but I finally got a pattern down.
I hot glued them on to my circle. ALL the way around. Then I started a second row on top, layering them...
I made sure to keep a few stand out names visible
like...

and...
and of coarse...
I finished my two rows (notice below that the second row is shorter than the outer row to layer nicely) and the center was getting out of hand so I cut a smaller circle out of the folder and hot glued it in the center to push and keep all the edges down. (Here I'm using a roll of packing tape to push it down so I didn't singe my fingers...for once).
For the third and final row, I cut the rolls I had made in half and glued them on.
LOVE...all the rolly ruffley layers...
I put a burlap bow in the center...but this is where I need your input...Is it too small? Do I need more color? I LOVE the vintage old ivory color, but a big red bow in the center might look too christmasy, maybe a black one? I dont know...But this is what I've got. I turned it over and glued an elastic on the back for hanging...
And I hung it... above my mirror...
On a shutter...
Who knows where it will end up...maybe a tablescape center piece?
I'm thinking that since my walls are Apartment-White, it might look better in a home with a dark tan or red wall...then the bow could stay.
What say ye?
Thanks Cyrstal for letting me take up space on your blog porch for a day! And thanks for letting me get Cuegly! Come visit me over at That's So Cuegly!

I love it Linds! great job!

I kinda like the black and white idea so I think a black bow would look good! I like it on the shutter... it looks good on the green!

I have seen these wreaths before but not with the little bow in the middle. I like that spin on it - makes it unique.

Little Reminders
